      Cancun is a popular vacation resort in Mexico. Cancun offers beautiful beaches, fine Hotels, an Abundance of Night life, and overall comfort. However, when traveling to a foreign Country there are precautions you need to take and although most of the people may seem friendly, you still need to be on your guard. Even if you stay at one of the Luxurious Hotels, do not drink the water. The water is ok to bathe in, however, I never felt comfortable brushing my teeth with the tainted water. I used bottled water purchased at the drug store for drinking and brushing my teeth.

      If you eat out be cautious about ordering certain kinds of Fish. Make sure the Fish is fresh, and if it doesn't appear to be "The Catch of The Day" Fresh, then send it back. In addition, request purified or bottled water while dining. Make sure you understand the money system and exchange rate. If you are not familiar with the exchange rate, you may get ripped off. It would be a good idea to purchase come Lomotil in case you end up feeling a bit queezy. In addition, if you do take Prescription Drugs, make sure you get refills before departing for Mexico. If you do run out of your medication in Mexico, you can purchase most drugs over the counter with no Prescription. The only problem is, the drugs may have a different name in Mexico, and you have no idea how long the medicine has been sitting on the shelf. expired medicines can make you very ill. If you do become ill, do not let a Pharmacist give you any kind of needles. Pharmacist normally give shots right in the Pharmacy. You have no way of knowing if the needles used are sterile.

      If you plan to go out at night. Never go out alone, and don't walk any where. Certain parts of Mexico, have an extremely crime rate. Never leave any valuables in your Hotel room. Vacationers have been known to have items disappear from their room after the Hotel Cleaning Service has been to the room. If you do have something stolen, report it immediately, more than likely you will not recover the missing items. In conclusion, never carry large amounts of Cash. It is best to carry a Debit Card, Major Credit card, and Travelers Checks.
