Learn something. On an island with as rich of a history as Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, you can take a tour by carriage or river boat or simply walk around the island to read historical markers.
Take a getaway. If you are in town for longer than a weekend, step outside of the island to visit nearby locations like Cumberland and Jekyll Islands or Jacksonville and St. Augustine, which you can get to by taking a ferry ride. Historic Savannah, Georgia is a couple of hours away.
