Key Largo Cottages at the Key Lime Sailing Club also offers their daily sunset cruise on a 40-foot catamaran, free to guests who rent a beach-side cottage. Guests are also welcome to use the resort's kayaks, paddle boats, sailboats and dinghies.
Most Key Largo sunset cruises are offered through boat charter companies with different types of boat excursions available for private parties or larger groups. Caribbean Watersports offers a private sunset cruise with complimentary mimosas on a 26-foot powerboat. Sunset Catamaran Sailing Adventure includes free champagne or rum punch aboard a 40-foot catamaran, and Quicksilver Charters offers the same on a 50-foot catamaran. Reef Runner Sailing offers charter sailboats for private sunset cruising by appointment.
If you are looking for something more than sunsets and champagne, several charter companies offer additional enticements on their cruises. Midnight Dragon Sailing not only offers traditional private sunset cruises with drinks and appetizers, but also sunset kayaking and sunset dinner cruises. Captain Sterling's Champagne Sunset Cruises can arrange an on-board wedding, and Key Largo Princess offers a cruise on a glass-bottomed boat so guests can enjoy the views under the water as well as above. Key Largo Sailing and Snorkeling Adventures offers a sunset cruise with complimentary wine and rum punch, as well as appetizers for groups of six or more.
Key Largo sunset cruises vary widely in costs, so it makes sense to compare before booking. The free cruises require purchase of lodging or dinner. Cruises with champagne or other drinks run from $26 to $65 per person, although most are around $50, as of 2010. For a dinner cruise, plan to pay close to $100 per person.
