While Orlando is home to Disney World and Sea World, there are numerous other activities you can do, and many of them are free. Orlando was once the centralized area in Florida for citrus growing, but now most of the city has experienced urban sprawl. Within the city, there are a vast deal of free activities that both children and adults can enjoy.
  1. Ocala Natural Forest

    • With Florida's mild temperatures, one can enjoy the scenery of Ocala's Natural Forest all year round. Whether it is hiking along the trails, fishing or water skiing, Ocala Natural Forest has something for everyone. Cool and refreshing waters come from the mixing of Juniper, Alexander, Salt and Silver Glen Springs, and with the cavernous terrain of the springs, snorkelers can enjoy the fish and underwater vegetation.

    Fleaworld and Funworld

    • Fleaworld is the largest flea market in America, and it is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Funworld is open only on Saturday and Sunday and features circus and magic acts as well as acrobat shows depending on when you visit. Vickie's Paradise Parrot show is an exotic bird show with a Caribbean flair, and it is available certain times on the weekends.

    Lake Eola Park

    • At Lake Eola Park, you can do everything from getting in your daily exercise by walking the .9 mile circular track, or you can feed the ducks by the pond. Restrooms are available along with a concession stand. Kids can play on the playground while adults can bird watch or take in the scenic surroundings. The park is open from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday through Sunday.
