The Harry P. Leu Gardens are a great relaxation idea for seniors. The gardens contain the largest rose garden in Florida, a large camellia garden, a museum, butterfly gardens and other plant-life. Seniors can enjoy the relaxing environment and beautiful gardens, take classes in horticulture and visit the museum. Anyone that goes to the garden on Mondays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. will get free admission, which makes it an ideal spot for any senior on a budget.
Any senior with an interest in art would enjoy the Morse Museum. The Morse Museum originally opened in 1942 and has improved and grown over the years. New exhibits or guest exhibits keep the museum interesting. The majority of the collection is American art, though it does have some art from Europe and other locations as well that dates back to the 1600s. There are pieces that range between paintings to sculpture, ceramic and glasswork. The museum claims the world's most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany.
The Orlando Ballet puts on a wide range of productions throughout the year. The shows change through the year, so there are always new productions and shows available. Though the shows always differ, there is always something interesting. If it is winter, there is always the classic show "The Nutcracker" available. Show times will differ based on when the ticket is purchased and when the shows are playing.
