Things for Adult's to Do in Vegas

Las Vegas has something for everybody. The city's main draw remains its casinos, which offer much more than just gambling. Las Vegas also has several museums and shows that are worth checking out. And, if you're up for it, there are several amusement park-style rides along the strip for the adventurous.
  1. Casinos

    • Las Vegas is known for drawing gamblers by the millions each year, and there is no shortage of casinos where you can try your luck. For newbies, slot machines might be a good place to start. They can be found in every casino. Or you can choose from craps, blackjack, roulette and many other games. Casinos are open 24 hours and if you get bored at the tables or slots, many casinos have other fun activities to do. For instance, the Venetian invites you to take a gondola ride in a replica of the Grand Canal. At Paris, take an elevator to the top of its very own Eiffel Tower. Other casinos have a revolving variety of shows and exhibits.

Some casinos also offer gaming classes in case there's a game you'd like to try but don't know much about. Most casinos offer these free primers during the week, and most classes take about a half hour.

You can also try Flip It. This game is played on a machine that resembles a large slot. Insert your dollar and watch it fly through the air to see where it lands. If it lands just right, it'll knock some of the gold coins in the machine off of a tray and let you walk away a winner. Most of the larger hotels and casinos have at least one of these machines.

    Museums and shows

    • The Liberace Museum is one of Las Vegas' most popular exhibitions. The museum pays homage to everything about the great pianist, including jewelry, costumes and lots of rhinestones. There is also a plethora of news articles and photos that will show and tell you everything you ever wanted to know about this legendary Vegas entertainer.

Head to the Mirage Las Vegas and check out The Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. The dolphin habitat includes five bottlenose dolphins that spend their time swimming, catching fish and playing in the 2.5 million gallons of water that make up their home in Vegas. This research center works to educate visitors and, as part of that, the dolphins don't perform at regular times. Instead, people can watch them behave as they would in the wild.

    Rides

    • Even adults like rides. Try the roller coaster at the New York New York or head over to the Stratosphere Tower to ride the roller coaster there. There's also a ride called the Big Shot, which is a reverse bungee jump or Insanity, the Ride, a giant arm that extends over the edge of the tower and spins you. You can also see the entire strip from the tower.
