Multiple tour companies offer sightseeing tours of the west rim of the Grand Canyon from any hotel on the Las Vegas strip. Tours generally last a full day --- eight to 12 hours and include a ride in a comfortable, air-conditioned motor coach. The bus' large windows allow travelers to take in the desert scenery as it passes by. When visitors arrive at the Grand Canyon, which is about a three hour drive from Vegas, they can step out on the Skywalk and look down at the expansive canyon below. Many tours include a stop at the Hoover Dam on the way out to the canyon. Note that fees for the Skywalk begin at $30 and are generally not included in the price for the tour.
