Ghost Tours of Las Vegas

Las Vegas reminds most of us of glitzy casinos, elaborate shows, sunny pools and its famous Strip filled with bright neon lights. It hardly seems like an environment fit for ghosts, but Vegas has a dark side. The city is filled with gruesome deaths, celebrity hauntings and eerie tales, and visitors can take a variety of tours to see haunted--or forgotten--places, where ghosts linger and unsettled spirits haunt several sites. Perhaps what happens in Vegas really does stay in Vegas ... forever and forever.
  1. Haunted Vegas Tours

    • Haunted Vegas Tours offers a spooky tour of Sin City's dark side. Led by a retired mortician, Haunted Vegas takes visitors on a guided trip to the places where famous personalities died, including Elvis, Liberace, Tupac Shakur, Bugsy Siegel and Redd Foxx. The tour also takes visitors to sites like the Vegas "Motel of Death" -- where legend has it a ghost haunts the hallways, despite repeated attempts at exorcism. Visitors also can expect a stop at a haunted park for paranormal investigation with dowsing rods that is creepy enough to satisfy anyone's inner ghostbuster. The three-hour tour departs nightly at 9:30 p.m. The Haunted Las Vegas Tour includes a stop at the Las Vegas Seance.

    Las Vegas Seance

    • The Las Vegas Seance is a paranormal show that lets visitors summon spirits from the afterlife. Held in Liberace's former dressing room, the show is conducted as a series of different paranormal "experiments" and a supernatural workshop to give viewers a glimpse of life after death. Brave souls can expect to see objects moving by invisible forces and conversations with the dead during the 45-minute show. One or two audience members are chosen to act as mediums, or the people who are hypnotized into a trance so spirits can possess their bodies.

    Pioneer Saloon

    • Pioneer Saloon is situated in Goodsprings, Nevada, about 20 miles northwest of Las Vegas. It sits in the middle of a ghost town and is a symbol of a bygone era. Built in 1913, stepping into the saloon is like stepping back to the Wild West, complete with genuine bullet holes that resulted from a shootout after a poker game gone bad. The saloon and bar has been featured in a number of Hollywood movies and it boasts an eerie history of its own. Legend has it that Clark Gable stayed at the Pioneer Saloon for days after learning his wife Carole Lombard had died in a tragic plane crash. The saloon also showcases artifacts and newspapers from the town's mining boom glory days, as well as a cemetery for former townspeople. Open daily.
