Katy Heritage Museum is a 9,600 square foot museum that houses vintage farming equipment, photographs and antique agricultural machinery. Cars from the 1920s, old tractor parts and pictures of Katy residents who lived in the area at the turn of the century are on display at the museum. There is no charge to visit and explore the museum as of March 2010.

Replicas of the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang-di, China's first emperor, and China's Forbidden City, home to the country's first Imperial family are some of the items on display at the Forbidden Gardens in Katy, Texas. A scale of Suzhou, a prominent city in China, ancient Chinese weapons and technology are also on display at the museum. Traveling through the facility is akin to stepping back 2,000 years to explore a time when China's families ruled large sections of the country.
Visitors can explore the inside of the museum where replicated military sites and other artifacts are on display. Outdoors are gardens decorated in traditional Chinese fashion. Typically it takes visitors one to two hours to explore the entire museum. Guests can purchase books, clothes, toys and statutes of soldiers in the on-site gift shop. Children can participate in Asian Adventure Day activities at the museum to create Asian artwork and masks; and to learn more about Asian history.

Located near downtown Dension, the Katy Railroad Museum houses more than a thousand railroad artifacts. Railway equipment from Kansas, Missouri and Texas are on display at the museum. The museum is located in the Katy Depot, a railway station that operated from 1914 until August 12, 1988. Visitors can examine photographs, railroad traffic signs, books and maps that date back nearly 100 years while they explore the museum's numerous display cases.
