The Musée Grévin, opened in 1882, is a wax museum featuring very realistic wax statues of famous French and international personalities. For example, in 2009 the museum added President Barack Obama's wax doppelganger to a scene with other world leaders, such as French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. A historic section illustrates French history from the middle ages to the 19th century.
