• While Deadwood is celebrated for what happened in the 1800s, the Boondocks Diner and Amusement Park celebrates another time period, the 1950s and 1960s. Boondocks also feature classic automobiles with frequent car shows. The diner itself is an original building from the 1950s.

Broken Boot Gold Mine

• The Broken Boot Gold Mine tells the story of the 1876 gold rush that brought attention to Deadwood. The mine, originally called Sein's Mine, opened in 1878 and produced gold and iron pyrite, which made sulfuric acid that helped in processing gold. It closed in the early 1900s, but reopened for tourists in the 1950s. You can learn about gold mining and even pan for gold yourself.

• The Celebrity Hotel Museum and Gaming offers a range of attractions. Gamblers can choose from reel slots, video slots and video poker in the casino. At the Nelson's Garage Car and Motorcycle Museum, you might recognize some of the famous vehicles that appeared in movies and on television. They include the Ferrari 308 that Tom Selleck used in "Magnum P.I." and the Aston Martin V8 that appeared in the James Bond movie ""The Living Daylights." Days of '76 Museum

• The Days of '76 celebration started in 1923 to honor Deadwood's history. The Days of '76 Museum preserves the horse-drawn carriages, photographs, costumes, memorabilia and other artifacts used through the years in the celebration. The top display, according to the museum, is the Clowser Collection of western pioneers and American Indian art and artifacts. The museum is open from mid-April through mid-October. The Days of '76 celebration takes place in July, and includes a parade and rodeo.
