How to Get Tickets to a Taping of 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon'

Since March 2009, "SNL" funnyman Jimmy Fallon has been making late-night audiences laugh with "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." Taking over the 12:35 a.m. time slot from Conan O'Brien, Fallon hosts two to four guests per show, ranging from TV and movie actors to sports figures and musical groups. His comedic style, along with in-house band The Root, are new favorites among viewers, and obtaining free tickets to the show is becoming increasingly popular among New York City visitors. Getting tickets to Fallon's show, taped inside Rockefeller Center, is easier than many might imagine.

Call (212) 664-3056 for ticket availability. Have a few dates in mind when making the call; you will be given a week about one month later than the day you are calling and will be allowed to pick a date during that week. Shows generally tape between 4 and 5 p.m. and air a few hours later, at 12:35 a.m.

Know the restrictions when placing ticket orders. You can book tickets for yourself and up to three guests. All guests must be age 17 or older. You may book tickets once every six months.

Consider getting standby tickets if you do not want to book in advance, but be sure to recognize that this does not guarantee you admittance. On the morning of the day you wish to attend a taping, arrive no later than 9 a.m. under the "NBC Studios" marquee on the 49th Street side of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. One standby ticket will be issued per person, so please have all members of your party with you.

Arrive at the taping about 30 to 45 minutes before the scheduled taping time. Here is where you may ask studio employees to identify the show's guests and inquire about getting seats in the "band bench" section of the audience if you learn that the musical guest is someone you really adore. Audience members sitting on the band benches will get the opportunity to come to the studio stage and surround the musical guest during the performance. If no one asks about the guests, audience members waiting in line will be chosen at random by studio employees.
