Find a tour. There are many tours to visit Stonehenge. Most of them include more than Stonehenge because although it is a great place to visit there isn't a lot to do once you get there. Tours include Windsor Palace, Winchester, Stratford, the Cotswold's, Bath and others.
Decide which tour is right for you. Most of the tours are around the same price, so you should determine what you would like to see besides Stonehenge. Normally you will leave London early in the morning and arrive back early in the evening. So be prepared for a long day.
See Stonehenge for yourself. Because of vandalism to the rocks, they are now set apart from the tour. You walk around them and are mystified by the sight. It is uncanny to try to understand how they got there and why. There are many mysteries surrounding Stonehenge and your guide will be sure to share them with you.
Visit the gift shop. No tour would be complete without visiting a gift shop. Here you will find plenty of souvenirs to bring home to remember your visit to Stonehenge. You can also find gifts for your family and friends.
Get a map. If you don't want to arrange a tour, you can get a map, rent a car, and drive to Stonehenge yourself. You won't get the information you receive when riding through the countryside on the bus with a tour guide but you will be able to see the splendor of Stonehenge.
