How to Visit Manitou Springs

Manitou Springs was once believed by Native Americans to be a sacred spot due to its natural, carbonated mineral springs that run down from Pike's Peak into the town. Until the 1930s, Manitou Springs served as a health resort hot spot for travelers who believed in medicinal and healing powers of the water. It was not until the 1990s that the springs were restored. Located only 10 minutes from Colorado Springs, the second largest city in Denver, and slightly over an hour from Denver itself, Manitou Springs is full of art galleries, intimate cafes and bed and breakfasts.
