How to Visit Indian Springs State Park

Georgia's Indian Springs State Park, located at 678 Lake Clark Road, Flovilla, GA 30216, is the oldest state park in the nation. The park, which features boating, fishing, miniature golf and swimming, has something to offer every family member year-round.

      Drive to Indian Springs State Park. Take Interstate 75 to Exit 205. Head toward the city of Jackson (east) on Georgia Highway 42. The park is approximately 15 miles from the interstate.

      Know the dates and times the park is open. Indian Springs is open daily from 7.00 a.m. until 10.00 p.m. The park office is open every day from 8.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m.

      Camp at the park. The 528-acre Indian Springs State Park offers a variety of campsites for various fees; check out the official Georgia State Park website (see resources below) for specifics. There are 88 tent, RV and trailer campsites, 10 cottages (two of which are pet-friendly) and a pioneer campground. A 130-person group camp is the perfect shelter for a large party. There are also seven picnic shelters and one large group shelter that seats 130 people.

      Hike at Indian Springs. A 3/4 mile nature trail winds through the park, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery. Tourists can sample the spring water from the park's namesake water source.

      Enjoy water activities at the park. 10 horsepower and under boats are allowed on the lake as well as non-motorized craft. The park also offers a lake swimming beach and fishing boat rentals.

      Check out the park's on-site museum. The Indian Springs museum features Creek Indian artifacts, the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps (responsible for the park's spring house) and 1800s Georgia history.
