Experiencing an affordable Disney vacation can be done but it takes some careful planning. ~~Plan your stay around your travel arrangements~~

One way to have a cheap Disney vacation is to plan your vacation around specials on travel. If you're traveling by plane to Disneyland or Disney World, explore the websites which compare many travel sites at once, such as Sidestep.com or cheapair.com. Another great spot is airfarewatchdog.com. They'll send you specials designed to be offered from the cities you choose as departure.

      ~~Consider staying in a condo instead of a hotel~~

Consider renting a condo through your Disney vacation. Head over to Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO) and get a condo for as little as $125 per night in Orlando - that's a big scan save you a lot of money for your Disney World vacation. Although you might have to rent a car to get to your Disney resort, you'll still be ahead by being able to make your own meals inside your condo. And, a down day by the pool isn't such a bad thing either. Most of the rental homes come with HBO, some even have hot tubs for the adults!

~~Get free entrance tickets to any Disney resort~~

There's a promotion happening in 2010 which is designed to get 1 million people to volunteer in their own communities in exchange for a free Disney entrance ticket. Each family can earn up to 8 tickets - that alone will save you about $1000. Click the first link in the resource section below for more information.

~~Check any memberships you have for Disney vacation ticket deals~~

If you're an AAA member, you can get discounted entrance tickets but you have to get them through AAA, not Disney. If you're a veteran or current in the service, you're eligible for a small discount through Disney. Costco even offers a discounted Disney vacation package (see link in resource section below)
