The Best Ways to See Disney Orlando

Planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be fun and exciting, but a little overwhelming, too. There are four parks, two water parks, Downtown Disney, golf courses and exciting resorts to visit; how can you do it all? With a little planning and research, your next trip can be stress-free as you partake in the magic of Walt Disney World.
  1. Disney Resort Transportation

    • Walt Disney World has several resorts to choose from. Each resort has a unique theme, such as The Great Outdoors, The Caribbean or a stroll through iconic pop culture history. The hotels are categorized as Value, Moderate and Deluxe, with prices to fit every budget. A great reason to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is the complimentary transportation. This includes airport transportation, Disney's Magical Express, as well as reliable bus, ferry and monorail transportation to and from the various attractions in the Walt Disney World Resort.

    Ticket Plans

    • To make sure you save the most money while having the best time possible, choose the right ticket plan for your party. Disney offers a variety of ticket plans, with the "Park Hopper and More" plan the most convenient option. This ticket allows you to hop from one park to another in the same day with unlimited access to both Disney water parks throughout your stay. This plan can be applied to your room key, which is known as your "Key to the World."

    Disney's FastPass

    • Once you're in the parks, you may find the lines for certain popular attractions are quite long. Don't worry; Disney found a way around this by creating Disney's FastPass. Just insert your "Key to the World" into a FastPass distributor located by any ride that offers FastPasses. A FastPass ticket will print out with a specific window of time you can return to ride the attraction with little to no wait. Large information boards in different areas of each park will give you the wait time for attractions with Stand-By waiting and will indicate if FastPasses are still available for that day; make sure to check those out before you rush to your next attraction.

    Extra Magic Hours

    • Another perk to staying on the Walt Disney World Resort property is taking advantage of Extra Magic Hours. During Extra Magic Hours, resort guests are invited to enter the park one hour early or stay up to three hours past regular closing hours on certain days. During summer hours, the Magic Kingdom has Extra Magic Hours until 3 a.m. Each day has different Extra Magic Hours for different parks.

Tip: The Walt Disney World Resort posts a schedule of the Extra Magic Hours up to three months in advance. This comes in handy if you want to plan your trip around the Extra Magic Hours. Extra Magic Hours also are a great time to get on some of the most popular rides--if you can stay up that late!

Make the Most of your Trip

    • It's a good idea to create a plan with other members of your travel party. You can visit the Walt Disney World Resort website for up-to-date information. Vacations are supposed to be fun and relaxing, and by planning ahead, you'll have more time to sit back and enjoy your stay at The Walt Disney World Resort.
