Look for a person with the official Walt Disney World cast-member name tag. This pin is shaped like a wide oval with a smaller oval bump on top. The name tag will have a name engraved onto the center, and the cast member's hometown engraved along the curve of the lower part of the tag. The decorative design on the name tag will change each year depending on Disney's current promotions, but the basic design remains.
Go into any of the shops, clubs or restaurants along the boardwalk and look for the person behind the cash register. This is always a cast member. Disney employees all wear different uniforms and outfits, depending on where they work, but only a cast member is allowed behind the cash register.
Look for a Disney cartoon character. Anyone dressed in a full-body Mickey Mouse, Little Mermaid or Goofy costume is a Disney employee. All costume characters will have a handler, or non-costumed helper, to aid in crowd control. This person is also a cast member.

Look for people in costume wearing a green pin lanyard. Many cast members wear lanyards to engage in pin trading with Disney guests. The green lanyards are reserved for trading with small children only. Disney does not sell green pin lanyards, but only gives them to employees who will trade pins with children.
