The Statue of Liberty is one of New York's top tourist attractions and commemorates the friendship that was built between the Americans and the French during the American Revolution. France sent the Statue of Liberty to the United States as a gift more than 100 years ago and she became an international icon of peace to millions of people around the world.
The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island and is open every day of the year except Christmas. The price to visit the Statue of Liberty only costs the ferry ride to Liberty Island, which is $12 for individuals ages 12 and over. Once visitors arrive on Liberty Island they can choose to experience the Ranger Program, which includes 45 minutes of learning historical information about the Statue of Liberty. The meeting place to join a Ranger Program group is under Liberty Island's flag pole.
