When in search of Spanish culture or cuisine, New York City has a lot to offer. NYC is home to El Barrio, also known as Spanish Harlem and East Harlem. El Barrio is a neighborhood in Manhattan that has one of the largest Spanish communities in New York. La Fonda Boricua is a restaurant and bar that specializes in Puerto Rican food and live Spanish music. It has been serving traditional food to East Harlem for over 10 years. Patrons can enjoy traditional stews, fresh cod salads, roasted pork and sizzling pan-fried steaks. Its most popular dish is arroz con pollo, which is a traditional rice and chicken meal. There are live musical performances throughout the week in the lounge area of this restaurant. Patrons can hear some of the best Latin jazz, salsa and descarda that New York has to offer.

This museum explores Latino culture and exhibits the work of Latino artists. It was founded in 1969 by Puerto Rican activists and educators. El Museo has a large collection of Taino artifacts, graphic artwork and photography. It also holds live musical performances, films, dances, community celebrations and public dialogues with experts.
As of March, one of the most popular exhibits is "Voces y Visiones." It celebrates the museum's 40th anniversary. This exhibit features more than 100 works created by Latino, Latin American and Caribbean artists and has a variety of pieces ranging from Spanish artifacts to contemporary mixed-media installations.

Repertorio Espanol is a theater that presents its plays in Spanish. It prides itself on theater that interests the Latino community and focuses on Latin heritage. It was founded in 1968 and still has a strong following today. Repertorio Espanol has won several awards, including the New York City Mayor's Award. As of March, "El Quijote" and "La Gringa" are showing. There are also live performances by Pilar Rioja, who is known as the Queen of Spanish Dance.
