Washington Gorge Amphitheatre Rules

The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, is one of the most scenic outdoor concert venues in the United States. The Gorge has a seating capacity of 20,000, and many visitors opt to stay overnight at the Gorge's campground. You'll want to keep your experience at the Gorge a pleasant one, so there are a few house rules to keep in mind.
  1. Rules for Camping at the Gorge

    • The campground at the Gorge is first come, first served. Although the campground does not have RV hookups, drinkable water and portable restrooms are easily accessible. Open fires and firepits are not allowed, but you may cook on a small camping stove or portable grill. There is an enforced quiet time in the campground between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Alcohol is permitted in the campground, but only within each individual campsite.     Food and Beverage Rules

    • Visitors to the Gorge are not allowed to bring their own sodas or alcoholic beverages into the venue. Bottled water is allowed, but only in factory sealed containers. Visitors may bring in their own food if it is packed in clear plastic bags. Food and beverages are available for purchase at numerous stands within the venue. Patrons must have valid identification to prove they are over 21 to purchase alcohol within the venue.

    Rules About Photography

    • Point-and-shoot digital cameras are allowed inside the Gorge Amphitheatre, but that rule may change at the discretion of the performing artist. Professional cameras, recording devices and video equipment are not allowed.

    General Rules

    • Bare feet are not allowed in the amphitheatre. You are not allowed to re-enter the amphitheatre once you have left, so make sure you have everything you need before going in. Lawn chairs are not permitted, so if you are sitting in the grassy area, be sure to bring a blanket, beach towel, or pillow for comfortable seating. Smoking is allowed only in the outside areas of the venue. Laser pointers, weapons and firearms are not permitted. Visitors are subject to screenings and bag searches to ensure compliance with the venue's rules, so check your bag for taboo items before you enter.
