Campsites Around the Gorge Amphitheatre

More than 20,000 people pack the Gorge Amphitheatre on a regular basis. Situated on the banks of the Columbia River in George, Wash., the venue is considered one the most scenic places in the world to catch a concert. The amphitheater is a regular stop for famous musicians like Dave Matthews Band and Brooks and Dunn. Campsites in the area provide scenic and convenient accommodations for concertgoers.
  1. The Gorge Campground

    • Concertgoers looking to walk to their campsite after the concert can do so at The Gorge Campground. The campground offers four levels of camping comfort: general, premier, terrace and glamping. General campsites are the most numerous in the campground, providing guest water stations, bathrooms and pay showers. Premier campsites are bigger and more private, with views of the river and gorge, and have special shuttle service provided to the amphitheater. Terrace campsites have continental breakfast in the morning, shuttle service to the amphitheater, free shower facilities and uninterrupted views of the gorge. Glamping is the campground's deluxe accommodations, providing guests with a furnished two-person cottage. The Gorge Campground has a convenience store on site providing snacks and camping equipment.

    Wild Horse Campground

    • Located less than a mile from the Gorge Amphitheatre, Wild Horse Campground provides tent and RV sites, although a limited number of electrical hookup sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Wild Horse provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the amphitheater. The campground's Coral Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a store has snacks and camping supplies. Camping reservations are $30 per car (up to 4 people), RV sites are $75 (up to 4 people) and motorcycles are $10 (one person). Reservations can be made through the Wild Horse website. Prices are valid as of March 2011.

    Vantage Riverstone Resort

    • Part campground, part RV park and part resort, Vantage Riverstone Resort is 13 miles from the Gorge Amphitheater. While two campgrounds provide closer accommodations to the amphitheater, Vantage Riverstone offers a quieter setting with less concertgoers. The resort, perched on the Columbia River, offers tent and RV sites, a motel, camping cabins and four house rentals. The grounds have a general store, marina, laundry, gas station, playground, basketball court and Wi-Fi access. Campsites are $16 per night as of March 2011.

    Sunbasin RV Park and Campground

    • Sunbasin RV Park and Campground is located 19 miles east of the Gorge Amphitheatre. The closest recreational attraction is Winchester Lake, where boating, fishing and swimming are available. Other area attractions include golf, rock climbing and biking. Sunbasin has Wi-Fi access at each site, a general store, an open field for sports and a propane filling station. Camp and pull-thru RV sites are available.
