RV Campsites Open Year-Round in Nebraska

A re-creation of an 1880s Main Street, a museum featuring the work of contemporary Plains and Native American artists, and a gigantic underground home that is a former missile site---these are among the attractions you can check out while touring Nebraska in your RV. When the summer tourism rush is over, some campgrounds shut down for the winter months, but there are sites in Nebraska where you can camp in your RV throughout the year.

    • Country View Campground, in the west-central Nebraska town of Ogallala, has 48 camping sites with full hook-ups for RVs. These sites offer cable television and wireless Internet service. The campground offers 24-hour check-in and features picnic tables and an antique shop. Pets must be kept on leash.

    Holiday RV Park

    • Holiday RV Park, in the west-central Nebraska town of North Platte, does not require reservations from October through April. The park's pull-through sites measure 30 feet wide by 70 feet long and feature cable television. Amenities include restrooms, laundry facilities and free wireless Internet service. Call to learn about reduced off-season RV camping rates.

    Eagle Canyon Hideaway

    • Located about two blocks from Lake McConaughy in the west-central portion of Nebraska, Eagle Canyon Hideaway offers full hook-up RV sites, with some pull-through locations. The park's general store and restaurant are closed in January and February. The campground offers a recreation room, showers, a fenced dog run, a nature trail and a playground. There's also a coin laundry facility.

    Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing

    • RV owners can enjoy views of the Chimney Rock historic site in western Nebraska while staying in pull-through RV campsites at Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing. The sites offer full hook-ups and 20- 30- and 50-amp electrical service. The website advertises that campers will "sleep on the same ground brave pioneers traveled 150 years ago." The campground includes a trading post where you can purchase food, beverages and souvenirs. There are picnic tables, horseshoe pits, restrooms and a shower.
