Fun Stuff to Do in Washington

Nestled in the beautiful Pacific Northwest region of the United States, the state of Washington has a variety of fun activities for adults, kids and families alike. Whether a family is looking for some big city attractions, or hoping to spend time in the great outdoors, there are a variety of fun things to do in the state of Washington.
  1. Cities

    • There are several great cities to visit while in Washington, all of them offering a variety of fun attractions. Seattle, the state's most well-known city, offers visitors a variety of cultural, big-city activities. People can check out the Pike Place Market and the Space Needle — the architectural giant that defines the city's skyline. Another famous Washington city is Spokane. Compared to rainy Seattle, Spokane offers visitors plenty of sun and a variety of activities, including stops at the Spokane Falls and the Manito Park.

    Museums

    • For a bit of educational fun while in the state of Washington, visit of the many museums in the state. The Seattle Art Museum highlights African, Egyptian and Asian art, as well as a variety of pieces from the Northwest as well. For more of a niche museum, consider visiting the Museum of Flight which commemorates the history of aviation. The Jundt Art Museum in Spokane has a variety of different artist's on exhibits, including Chihuly's glass art.

    Parks

    • Washington is known for its natural beauty and many outdoor attractions. There are several national and state parks in Washington that guests can visit. The Colville National Forest features three mountain ranges, with a variety of valleys and rivers for visitors to explore. Naturally, wildlife is abundant in this national park, and it is a great place to enjoy nature's beauty. In addition, Mount Rainier National Park houses one of the tallest mountain peaks in the United States. More than 120 state parks are within the state of Washington that guests can visit.

    Wineries

    • For some adult fun and relaxation, visitors can visit one of the many wineries in Washington. Yakima Valley Wine Country is a short trip from either Spokane or Seattle, and is located in central Washington. This sun-soaked area, located at the same latitude as the famous wine regions in France, produces a variety of grapes. Its wineries are enjoyed by many. Visitors can extend their trip into wine country by staying in local hotels and dining at restaurants that feature the area's fresh produce.
