The Garden Grove Historical Society maintains many of the city's historic buildings and allows tourists to peruse the sites. One of the marquis historic attractions of Garden Grove is the Stanley House Museum, which centers around the Ware-Stanley House. The House was built in 1892. The museum also features the Garden Grove #1 fire truck, a vehicle dating back to 1926. Other historic attractions are the Pump House, which features a water tank built in 1910, and the Garden Grove Lumber Building, established in 1905.
Garden Grove's city government operates the Atlantis Play Center, a playground designed for children. The park features concrete animals, which are safe for children to climb, a sea serpent slide and a water play area for small children. Children under 2 years old may enter the park for free. During the summer, Atlantis Play Center has a snack bar available for guests. Atlantis Play Center also provides picnicking areas; birthday groups may reserve the Play Center's tables for parties.
Youth soccer leagues are available for children year-round via Garden Grove Arena Soccer, or GGAC. This organization hosts indoor soccer games at its facility within Garden Grove Park, located right off the Garden Grove Freeway. GGAC also hosts adult soccer leagues. The youth league is for children ages 4 to 17. The staff at GGAC provides individual or team training upon request. The arena has a regulated indoor soccer field for league games, while youth teams play each other the arena's mini field.
Main Street is the focal point for Garden Grove's nightlife scene. This thoroughfare is in Garden Grove's downtown area and consists of restaurants, antique shops and bars. Some Main Street restaurants are Louie's on Main, The Boiling Crab, Doug's Downtown Grill and 7 Seas. One of the restaurants, 7 Seas, has a Happy Hour menu from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. as of the date of this publication. Every Friday Night, Main Street hosts the Garden Grove Car Show, a classic car show featuring early 20th century vehicles and hot rods from the '50s.
