Graceland Tour Information

Graceland was Elvis Presley's home from 1957 until his death in 1977. This Southern mansion has been opened to the public since 1982, allowing fans to tour and gain an insight into the life of Elvis Presley.
  1. Geography

    • Graceland is located at 3734 Elvis Presley Boulevard, about 12 miles from downtown Memphis, Tennessee. The parking lot is close to the ticket office, where shuttle buses transport visitors to the Graceland entrance for the beginning of the tour.

    Time Frame

    • The official Elvis website states that Graceland is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, and is sometimes closed on New Year's Day.

    Features

    • Tickets for Graceland tours can be bought online (see the link in Resources below) or at the ticket office and include an audio tour of Graceland's rooms and grounds. On the tour, visitors can see Elvis' costumes, awards, gifts from fans and other memorabilia of his life.

    Expert Insight

    • Although more expensive than the basic Graceland tour, the "VIP" and "Platinum" tours afford visitors access to additional areas of Graceland. The "VIP Tour" includes entrance to a special exhibit of Elvis' personal possessions: clothes, furniture and working barn. The VIP ticket also gives front-of-the-line privileges and all day in-and-out access.

    Considerations

    • To avoid the biggest crowds, plan your Graceland tour at times other than the most popular dates: during the Christmas holidays and Elvis Week (mid-August).
