Information on the Georgia National Fair

Georgia's state fair, the Georgia National Fair, is held every October, at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry, Georgia. The annual fair offers top-name concerts and entertainment and award-winning livestock shows and expositions.
  1. Special Events

    • The Georgia National Schoolhouse offers a unique field trip experience, combining education with fair exhibits and activities for educators and students at no charge. A special fair event for senior citizens, Midday at the Fair, allows senior citizens to participate in special fair activities and free afternoon entertainment. The fair also offers employers the chance to bring their employees for a day of fun with discounted rates and special armbands for Midway rides.

    Entertainment

    • Entertainment ranges from big-named concert attractions at Reaves Arena to strolling street acts. The Royal Hanneford Circus makes an appearance each year and presents high-wire acts, acrobatics and wild animal performances. Several stages throughout the fair present nightly concerts from up-and-coming artists. The fair's favorite tradition is ending the night with a fireworks show.

    • Georgia National Fair's Midway attracts thrill seekers and children of all ages with rides including the Skyflyer and "Gentle Giant" Ferris wheel. Special unlimited ride passes may be bought on certain days. Various horse breed organizations co-sponsor Georgia National Fair's horse shows. Horses from all over the Southeast travel to participate in the fair's shows. Livestock competitions begin on opening day and last throughout the fair. A favorite attraction for kids, Eudora Farms Petting Zoo, is a world-class petting zoo with animals from Australia, Africa and other countries. In addition, fine arts, educational and youth exhibits are on display throughout the fairgrounds.

    Perry, Georgia

    • Perry, Georgia, is a city of about 10,000 people in the center of Georgia. It is easily accessible from Interstate 75 and U.S. Highway 41. Historic downtown Perry offers specialty shops and local dining. History buffs can enjoy walking tours and the Sam Nunn museum, dedicated to the retired senator. A nearby attraction, Henderson Village, is a retreat to the Old South. Nineteenth century homes and cottages are surrounded by stately gardens, a hunting preserve, horse-drawn carriages and gourmet dining.
