Cabo San Lucas is well known for its fishing. Waters have plenty of trophy game fish famous for size. According to AllAboutCabo.com, a guide to the city, catches of record size have come from the area. More marlin is caught here than anywhere else, the site says. Other fish swimming near Cabo are yellowfin tuna, wahoo and mahi-mahi. Trophy fish laws call for returning some fish to the water, but tuna and mahi-mahi can be taken home. There are many fishing charters in Cabo San Lucas to accommodate whatever type of fishing visitors prefer, including half- and full-day voyages. Multi-day charters with on-board living are also available.
Cabo is a great place to hit the beach. Medano Beach offers the best swimming. This popular beach stretches along Cabo San Lucas Bay. Lover's Beach is another popular site for sun worshipers. The bay side is best for swimming. Divorce Beach, which is near Lover's Beach, has beautiful white sand on its Pacific shores. While this beach is a good choice for sunbathers, it's a dangerous swim with its strong currents and riptides. Another swatch of white sand can be found at Solmar Beach. This Pacific beach also has strong currents and isn't the best choice for swimming. The Old Lighthouse Beach is hard to reach but worth the effort for the view. A car can get visitors most of the way. The stopping point is at the top of the hill. For those who want adventure on the water, try parasailing, sunset cruises, sailing, scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling or whale watching.

Palmilla was designed by Jack Nicklaus; Cabo Real was designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Cabo del Sol has an ocean course, designed by Nicklaus, and a desert course, designed by Tom Weiskopf.
