Also known as "The Dune," Medano Beach is the center of Cabo's nightlife, with numerous bars and restaurants around the area, which include Mango Deck, Las Palmas and Billygan's Island. The beach is always busy and active both day and night. For those who enjoy diving and snorkeling Mendano's pristine waters offer the perfect underwater getaway. There's also jet skiing, sailing and surfing along the beach. Though the beach is a hot spot for spring breakers and active singles, Medano's wide range of activities also are ideal for families on vacation.
Lover's Beach (Playa del Amor) is the quieter, more secluded destination for couples vacating in Cabo. The beach offers spectacular views of the Sea of Cortez and beautiful ancient rock formations. Nevertheless, getting to Lover's beach requires some planning--the best way to get there is by water taxi--but views and experience pay off. As beautiful as these sights are swimming and snorkeling around the beach is strongly discouraged--the strong currents of the Pacific make any water activity around the beach dangerous.
Like Lover's Beach, Solmar also caters to couples who want the beautiful view without many people around. It's also a well-known spot for whale watching during the winter. The beach is home to numerous hotels, including Hotel Finisterra, Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa and Hotel Solmar Suites. Due to the strong currents swimming along the beach and any water activity are strongly discouraged.
