Grab your guy friends and head out to Woodburn Dragstrip for the day. Woodburn Dragstrip is home to a quarter-mile NHRA dragstrip and hosts events on Fridays and weekends, usually from March to late fall. At Woodburn Dragstrip, you can choose to watch several different categories of racing, from high-school racers to the 100mph Club. If you have a camper, register for a spot and spend the weekend watching races with your friends. Or, if you're a racer yourself, register ahead of time and take part in the race of your choice.
Shopping therapy is a nice way to unwind from a long week. If you have the day to yourself while your child is with her father, stop by Woodburn Company Stores. This outlet center is home to stores such as Banana Republic, Bass, Calvin Klein, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory, DKNY, J.Crew, The North Face and several different eateries, where you can take a break from shopping to eat lunch. Pick up something special for your little princess at Carter's Childenswear or Toys-R-Us Express. Woodburn Company Stores is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 to 7.
If you're looking for something fun to do to but you don't want to spend a lot of money, put junior in the car and stop by Woodburn Bowl to bowl a few games. Woodburn Bowl offers 12 lanes with bumpers available at each lane. Games cost $1.50 per person Monday through Thursday, and shoe rentals are $3.00 (as of 2010). Not only is bowling inexpensive, it allows you to bond with your child. You can also rent lanes at an hourly rate. Glow Bowling takes place Friday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 and Saturday nights from 7:00 to 11:30. Food and snacks are available. Woodburn Bowl accepts cash, Visa and Mastercard.
