How to Visit Purina Farms

Purina Farms in St. Louis, Missouri, can be a nice diversion on an a family vacation. It is an attraction that can be great for animal lovers. You do not need to invest a lot of money for this type of entertainment while you travel. Children especially love to get up close to the animals, many of which are household pets.       Plan when you would like to travel to Purina Farms, as they are open during daylight hours, March through October.

      Watch the entertaining dog shows held each day at Purina Farms. There are many different categories and types of dog competitions. Check the schedule you receive when you arrive for exact show times. These shows even include popular dog diving competitions.

      Go to the petting zoo, especially if you have small children. Here you will be able to pet animals and be educated on how to care for them. Staffers will also train kids and adults on how to feed and care for household pets.

      View a grooming demonstration or sit in on dog obedience training. This is especially helpful for dog owners. Hear some advice you may not have known before your visit to Purina Farms. This is all included with admission.

      Take a look at the pets that are in cages. You will be able to photograph them and even pet them. There are some exotic and rare animal breeds. They are generally very friendly and enjoy your visit. In the farm animals portion, you will be able to pet the cows and other livestock as well as witness a milking demonstration.
