The BPO Elks, with thousands of lodges across the country, is a community-based fraternal order that focuses on charity events as well as social gatherings. Members of the Lacey Elks, in Forked River, New Jersey, enjoy such activities as horseshoes, picnics and, of course, bingo. As with most Elks events, most of the proceeds go to community charities. It is inexpensive to play bingo games, but state gambling laws require players to be at least 18.

The Bradley Beach Bingo Hall has its own lot just off Ocean Avenue in Bradley Beach, New Jersey. The building still maintains the boardwalk facade of the old-fashioned mid-century bingo houses and is a popular spot for local residents, especially seniors. Although the stakes aren't as high as in Atlantic City, guests do have the chance to come home with both cash and small prizes, such as a new waffle maker. Bingo is played several times a week, in both mornings and evenings, but is reserved for those 18 and older.

Mainland Bingo Hall, a few miles inland from Atlantic City, is a large and popular venue that hosts games every day. Most take place in the early evenings, but guests can arrive Friday morning for the "early bird" special or late Saturday for the "night owl" special. The hall is a bit more upscale than the average rec center, with food and beverages served, and the interior is kept clean. Only those 18 or older are allowed to play at Mainland Bingo Hall.
