Kid Friendly Shows in Las Vegas

While Las Vegas is known for its entertainment geared toward adults, such as the glitz and glamour of gambling and showgirl revues, kids are welcome in the Nevada city as well. While children cannot hit the gaming tables, numerous Vegas casinos provide a variety of entertainment ranging from magic acts to medieval shows geared toward kids and families.
  1. Lance Burton Magic Show

    • Dazzle as cars magically appear, people disappear and levitate, and gloves transform into doves. That's just some of what children can expect to see at the Lance Burton Magic Show at the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino at the Lance Burton Theatre. The illusionist has appeared on "The Tonight Show" and has twice been named Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts. The magician who hails from Louisville, Kentucky got his start in magic at the age of 6, and his Las Vegas interactive shows are family orientated, according to the visitlasvegas.com the Official Vegas Travel website. Sporting a tuxedo and tails, Burton encourages children to come up on stage and serve as assistants. Shows at the Lance Burton Theatre are scheduled 7 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

    Tournament of Kings

    • Featuring medieval good guys and bad guys, nonstop action, and even fireworks, there's much for children to delight in during the Tournament of Kings Jousting Dinner Show at Excalibur Hotel and Casino. The interactive show centers on kings from various nations protecting King Arthur's realm and seeking revenge for one of the fallen royal subjects. Patrons are seated in sections where they can root for their king, and children will enjoy cheering for the heroes and booing the villains during the jousting competitions. The ticket price also covers a three-course medieval dinner, which must be eaten by hand as no silverware is provided. During the week, Tournament of Kings shows are at 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday. On the weekend, shows are held at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Children age 3 and younger are admitted free.

    World's Largest Permanent Circus

    • Circus Circus Las Vegas appropriately offers circus entertainment daily one floor above its casino. Acts, such as jugglers, trapeze artists and clowns, from around the world perform before delighted children at the popular Las Vegas show. The Flying Poemas perform death-defying trapeze stunts, including triple somersaults while blindfolded. African Acrobats International entertain crowds with human pyramids and other acts of contortion. Free performances are held on the midway stage every half hour from 11 a.m. to midnight. Seating for the show is limited, but the show can be seen from the midway.
