Things to Do on a Saturday Night in Los Angeles

There are so many activities to do on a Saturday night in the lively, entertainment capital of Los Angeles that there is surely something to satisfy your taste. One of the main things you can enjoy on Saturday nights in Los Angeles is the fact that it rarely rains and the weather, even at night, is pleasant. Rest assured you can find many expensive, moderate and inexpensive things to do in this great city.
  1. To party

    • Los Angeles, among many other places, has the hottest clubs. The Standard is a popular place. If you are a fan of the HBO Series "Entourage," The Standard is frequently filmed there. The beauty of this club is that it is located on the top of a skyscraper. The eclectic furniture, the pool, the music and the crowd are the epitome of Los Angeles nightlife. LAX and Social are clubs that are also extremely popular. You have probably seen their interiors in many big movies and television shows. If you are interested in laughing on a Saturday night, take a drive to The Comedy store. Many of the famous comedians that are legends today had their start there. If you always wanted to be a cowboy, take a trip to Saddle Ranch Chop House. Not only are the steaks and drinks tasty, but you can take a ride on the mechanical bull, which always brings cheers and applause.

    To Dine

    • Los Angeles has so many places to dine that you have to experience at least one Saturday night eating. The Pig'n Whistle located on Hollywood Boulevard was once popular among classic movie stars, such as Spencer Tracy, Cary Grant and Shirley Temple. Now you will be able to eat a great, moderately priced meal in this restaurant. If you have a slightly bigger budget, take a trip to Katsuya for upscale Asian cuisine. If you would like to possibly see Paris Hilton or one of your other favorite celebrities, go to Mr Chow's in Beverly Hills for an expensive yet memorable experience. Finally, if you want to experience classic Hollywood on a cheaper budget, Mel's is a great restaurant that appears to be straight out of a 1950s movie. While you are there, you may want to head to The Sky Bar across the street for an upscale club experience.

    Leisure

    • For those who are looking for a more leisurely, romantic excursion on a Saturday night, take a drive on Mulholland drive. Its streets wind you into a virtual maze of high, breathtaking views of the city. If it is not too late, take a drive up to the Griffith Observatory, another attraction that overlooks all of Los Angeles. You would be remiss to be in the entertainment capital and not catch a movie at the Arclight. Running late and think you will not be able to get a seat? Pay for your ticket and actually pay for assigned seating. This allows you to take a little bit more time to drink that martini and know your seats are waiting for you just in time for the movie. If you would like to hear the crashing of the waves and a cool breeze, take a stroll to the Santa Monica Pier (scenes from "Forrest Gump" were filmed there). Also, if you prefer being around a lot of people, go to Universal City walk, next to Universal Studios. Here you can see street performances, clubs and restaurants all on one strip. Finally, if you prefer saving some money and having a quiet evening at home, head to Bevmo for some good wine at cheap prices. Next go to either Pavilions or Gelsons for an elegant prepared meal to take home, and cuddle up with the one you love watching "Saturday Night Live" or a rented movie. Los Angeles is a city that is known to entertain, whether you're inside or out.
