The Page Museum's La Brea Tar Pits are located in the heart of Los Angeles and offer visitors an array of fossils that extend as far back as the Ice Age. Step back in time to Los Angeles as it was 40,000 years ago and learn about the saber-tooth cats and mammoths that roamed the area. Visitors to the museum can also watch fossils and bones being cleaned and repaired, and view exhibits of extinct wild animals from the Ice Age. As of 2010, the museum charges around $7 for admission and is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30.p.m.
The Los Angeles Derby Dolls is an all-female roller derby league consisting of five teams. Roller derby dates back to the 1930's. In this updated version, teams of five players race around a 100-by-60-foot banked track in an effort to break through the opposing team and score. The Derby Dolls website lists the game schedule.
