How to Call Brazil From the USA

If you have family or friends living in Brazil you may want to call them. You probably won't call all the time because of the international calling rate. However the process of calling someone in Brazil is fairly similar to calling someone in a different state, the main difference being you need to dial a few extra numbers to reach the country of Brazil.

     Pick up your phone and dial the U.S. (and Canada) exit code of 011.

     Press the Brazil country code of 55.

   • 3

     Dial the two-digit area code for the area in the country you are connecting to.

   • 4

     Press the last eight numbers of the telephone number. Once complete, the call is redirected to the location in Brazil, and momentarily the phone rings on the other end.
