Things to Pack on a Caribbean Cruise

The Caribbean is one of the most popular cruise destinations. Americans love the warm climate and pristine beaches. There are many things to think about when preparing for a cruise, including what to wear. Many people know how to have fun in the Caribbean, however, many people don't know what to wear.
  1. Warm Weather Packing

    • The temperature in the Caribbean is very steady throughout the year. The thermometer rarely drops below the 70s. Bring with you at least three swimsuits because the cruise offers an opportunity to swim while sailing the high seas, and port stops usually offer swimming opportunities at pristine Caribbean beaches. T-shirts, shorts, and lightweight clothing will be the staple of your outdoor outfits. Blouses and cotton button up shirts are perfect tops for eating at restaurants or carousing the ports. For moderately formal wear, khaki pants for men or lightweight dresses, skirts, or pants for women are ideal.

    When Inside

    • Though most of the time will be spent exploring the exotic, outdoor scenery of the Caribbean, there will be time spent indoors. Bring sleepwear, at least one outfit per night. Lounge clothes such as comfortable shirts, pajama pants, and comfortable footwear are handy clothes to pack for your Caribbean vacation. Most cruises have a formal dinner party. Entrance into one of these parties depends on your attire. Formal wear is a must. Men are expected to wear a suit or tuxedo and women are expected to dawn a cocktail dress. If desired, women should bring accessories and a shawl.

    Sun Protection

    • Sun protection is vital when on a Caribbean cruise. Bring a hat, as it keeps harmful rays from penetrating your scalp. Sunglasses protect your eyes from the harmful rays. Many women like to bring a sarong to wrap around their bathing suit to protect their skin from the sun's rays when outside the water.
