What was the currency in Estonia before euro?

The currency used in Estonia before adopting the Euro was the Estonian Kroon (EEK). The Kroon was introduced on 25 June 1992, replacing the temporary currency known as the Estonian rouble. The name Kroon was derived from the Swedish "krona", which had previously been used as currency in Estonia. The Kroon was subdivided into 100 sentis.

Estonia adopted the euro as its official currency on 1 January 2011, becoming the 17th member of the Eurozone. The conversion rate from the Estonian Kroon to the euro was fixed at 1 EUR = 15.6466 EEK.
