Countries Without Import or Export Currency Restrictions

Each country has its own import and export currency policies. Some countries may place restrictions on either imported or exported currency, or possibly on both. For a person who enjoys traveling to different destinations around the world, currency restrictions could be problematic. There are several countries that allow currency to be imported and exported without any restrictions, including Tuvalu, Comoros Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands and Tonga.
  1. Tuvalu

    • The island of Tuvalu is a small, remote nation in the Pacific Ocean. The area is unspoiled, peaceful and non-commercialized. Tuvalu is comprised of six atolls and three islands, totaling 25 square kilometers of land. The uninhabited atoll islands, restricted species and mangrove areas are the main tourist attraction sites, along with the lagoons and their deeply contrasting deep and shallow water colors. The Polynesian culture is maintained by the islanders through their arts, crafts, dance, music, legends and architecture.

    Comoros Islands

    • Formed as a result of volcanic activity, the Comoros Islands consist of four islands located at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel in the western Indian Ocean. The waters surrounding the islands are home to the famous Coelacanth fish, once thought to be extinct, but now a regularly caught fare for the islanders. The fresh water streams, sandy beaches and coral reefs are also home to other lifeforms such as sharks, sailfish, tiny shrimp and sunfish. The islanders are a mix of ethnicity and culture.

    Turks and Caicos Islands

    • Turks and Caicos Islands consist of more than 40 Cays; however, only eight are inhabited by people. The islands surround the Turks Bank, which are two large limestone plateaus, and are bordered with some of the most impressive coral reef walls in the Caribbean. The deep waters surrounding the islands are home to humpback whales, manta rays, spotted eagle rays and blue marlin, and are ideal for serious divers. The people of the islands are an ethnic mix of several countries, which lends an international feel to the area. However, there is a distinct island culture involving art, music, dance and traditional bush medicine (home made remedies made from herbs, plants, barks and roots of trees).

    Tonga

    • The Kingdom of Tonga is a large group of 176 coral and volcanic islands spanning more than 700,000 kilometers of ocean. About 52 islands are inhabited by the people of Tonga. These islands are home to active volcanic landscapes, coral atolls and reefs, tropical rain forests and unspoiled beaches. The people of Tonga are known for their culture, handcrafts, dancing, food and feasting, and their central family structure.
