How to Tour England & Germany by Rail

Europe has some of the most advanced public-transit systems in the world, including a rail system. Traveling by rail in both England and Germany is convenient and often the cheapest way to travel. You can even travel between the two countries by train--even with the English Channel separating England from the rest of Europe.

Instructions

    • 1

Make an itinerary. Use the Internet or guide books to make a list of everything you want to see during your trip to England and Germany. This way you won't miss anything you want to see.

    • 2

Start in England. England has one of the most advanced rail systems in Europe, and it is easy to get to any city or town in England by train.

    • 3

Begin your journey in one corner of England and work your way around its seasides. Conclude your trip through central England and finish in London, where you can pick up the Eurostar.

    • 4

Take the Eurostar from St. Pancreas Station to Paris. This train travels under the English Channel and leaves many times throughout the day.

    • 5

Pick up a direct train from Paris to Berlin, Munich or Frankfurt.

    • 6

Buy a travel pass for Euro Railways and work your way around all the cities you wish to visit in Germany. Like England, most trains travel to all large cities and surrounding villages.
