Instructions

    • 1

Pack plenty of sunscreen with a high SPF. Florida is known for being sunny year-round, so even if you're going to Walt Disney World in February, you'll definitely want to pack enough sunscreen for your entire family. Make sure the sunscreen is labeled "Broad Spectrum" so that you are protected from both UVA and UVB rays. Often, the most effective sunscreens are the ones designed for babies.

Bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes. Yes, sometimes you'll see people walking around the parks in high heels or uncomfortable looking sandals but why torture yourself for the sake of fashion? Bring your favorite tennis shoes and avoid painful blisters.

    • 3

Purchase water-proof shoes or grab an extra pair of shoes for each family member, and be sure to bring extra socks. Even though Florida is known as the "Sunshine State" there's always possibility of a rainstorm any time of year. And since you'll be walking around outside virtually all day long, you'll want to avoid walking in soggy shoes.

    • 4

Buy a waterproof poncho for every member of your family. They're compact, lightweight and can be found at virtually any big box store. Many baby stores sell stroller rain covers—be sure to pick up one up if you have a little one who will be sitting in a stroller during your stay. The Disney parks do sell ponchos, but you'll save money by purchasing them ahead of time. Plus, you won't have to worry about running around in the rain looking for a shop that sells ponchos.

    • 5

Pack plenty of bug spray if you are traveling to Walt Disney World during the warmer months of the year since the warm, moist air invites lots of insects.

    • 6

Pack plenty of clothing for warm weather, even in the winter months. If you are traveling during the winter, be sure to also bring a lightweight jacket and a few pairs of jeans in the event of cooler weather.
