Instructions

    • 1

Check the weather. While both Disneyland and Disney World frequently offer comfortable weather, both Southern California and Central Florida can have very cold days during the winter and hot days throughout the summer. In addition, it frequently rains during springtime afternoons at Disney World. Before packing for your trip, determine what the weather forecast is for your time at Disney so you can pack appropriately.

Pack all clothing items. Include enough clothes for everyone to have a clean outfit for each day of your trip with an extra outfit or two if possible. Add dressy clothing if you have special activities or dinners planned for outside the parks. Include one or two comfortable pairs of shoes and socks that don't rub. Pack a poncho or raincoat when traveling to Disney World, just in case of a rain shower. Remember to bring your bathing suit, or several suits if your family likes to swim.

    • 3

Add other family essentials. Pack any family medications and health care supplies, including sunscreen, lip balm and aloe. Include your camera, video camera and all related supplies to catch all your family memories. Bring a small first aid kit with items such as band-aids, pain medication, hand wipes and tissues. Include other items that are important to your family, like a list of family and friend's addresses to send post cards or your child's comfort item.

Include helpful items for the parks. Pack a small backpack or fanny pack to carry all of your park essentials in. Carry an autograph book for meeting Disney characters, sunglasses, pennies and quarters for penny press machines, anti-bacterial soap, small snacks and your trip planning notes in your pack. Attach a misting fan to the strap to keep your family cool on a warm day in the park.

Gather all paperwork and documentation. Remember to bring your health insurance cards, photo identification and your driver's license. If you are renting a car, bring proof of your automobile insurance as well. Write down all reservation confirmation numbers to bring with you and remember to bring your park tickets if they have already been purchased.
