Set out all items you use daily, and calculate the amount of days you will be away for the trip. Use small plastic bottles to store the quantity of pills or dry goods used and put them aside. This lets you bring only the needed amount instead of the larger amounts found in your bathroom.
Store toothbrushes in small sealable plastic baggies. After use, there is typically residue left on the brush. The baggy isolates this and keeps it from staining other items.
Open you travel bag, or if you do not have one, use a ditty bag or other zippered pouch. Separate your items into groups such as shaving, teeth, hair and body. For example, in the shaving section of the bag, place razors, creams, aftershave (in small bottles) and clippers; for teeth, place the toothbrushes and pastes.
Pack each group of items into one section of the bag. If you have an open ditty bag, make groups using plastic baggies.
Close the bag and attach a plastic chain and hook to the top or handle. Use plastic as it is less apt to set off metal detectors at airports or be considered a weapon if you choose to take the toiletry bag with you in your carry-on luggage. Use the hook to hang the toiletries in airplane bathrooms, or in your hotel.
