Write your name, home address and contact information on a small piece of paper. Include your phone number or email address as a way to get in touch with you if someone finds your suitcase and wants to return it. Write legibly, but keep in mind that the larger you write, the larger your luggage tag will have to be.
Trim around the edges of the paper, and trace its outline on two pieces of felt. One piece will be the front of the luggage tag, and the other side will be the back with an open window to see the paper with the information on it.
Glue the piece of paper, blank side down, onto the back of the piece you want to serve as the front of the luggage tag and allow the glue to dry.
Trace the shape of the luggage tag around the piece of paper, and cut it out. Be sure to leave a small space to cut a hole to thread the ribbon through.
Place the front piece of the luggage tag on top of the back piece so that the piece of paper lines up with its outline. Trace the shape of the piece and cut it out. Cut out the outline of the piece of paper.
Place the two pieces of felt directly on top of each other so that the hole in the back piece lines up directly with the piece of paper so all the information is visible. Glue the felt together along the edges and allow it to dry.
Cut a small hole through the luggage tag. Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie it to a handle on your luggage.
