Who needs to sign your Irish passport application?

Your passport application must be signed by a passport Certifying Officer. These include:

* A Solicitor or Barrister

* A Commissioner for Oaths

* An officer of the Revenue Commissioners, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Department of Justice, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media or Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

* A full-time member of the Garda Síochána

* A full-time officer of the Permanent Defence Force

* A teacher or lecturer employed in a second level school, third level college or other recognized educational institution

* A registered nurse

* A registered medical practitioner

* A civil servant

* A minister of religion

* An accountant

* A member of the staff of the Passport Office

* Any person who is authorized to sign the passport applications of citizens of other countries
