How to Obtain a Passport for Official Military Travel

United States soldiers traveling overseas on military orders must obtain a specific passport. No-fee Passports are issued free of charge for those on official government employment. They are necessary for identifying the military branch, rank and citizenship of the solider entitled to it. Applying for a No-fee Passport also involves a different process from that of regular citizens. It is recommended that military applicants obtain a passport at least 10 weeks before the time of their departure.
