According to the Maldives Immigration, Malaysians do not require a visa to visit Maldives. However, they must meet the following requirements:
- A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended date of departure from Maldives
- Sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay in the Maldives
- A confirmed return or onward ticket
Additionally, Malaysians are required to apply for a tourist visa upon arrival in Maldives. The tourist visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days. To apply for a tourist visa, Malaysians must provide the following documents
- A completed visa application form
- Two recent passport-sized photographs
- A copy of their passport
- Proof of sufficient funds
- A confirmed return or onward ticket
The tourist visa fee is $50 and must be paid in US dollars.
Malaysians are also required to pay a departure tax of $30 when leaving Maldives. This fee must be paid in US dollars or Maldivian rufiyaa.
