All types of UK visas require:
-A recent, color passport photo (45mm x 35mm). The photo should be taken against a light background, printed on normal photograph paper, and be of your full face without sunglasses or a hat.
-Your passport or travel document.
-A nonrefundable visa application fee. This fee differs, depending on the country, and must be made in the local currency from where you are applying.
For tourists and those visiting friends, apply as a general visitor. General visitors must show that: they intend to visit the UK for no longer than six months; they intend to leave the UK at the end of six months; and they have enough money to live without working for the intended period of visit.
Business visitors, those who live abroad and wish to visit the UK temporarily to conduct business, have different rules for length of stay than do general visitors, depending on the type of business.
