Visa applications for Japan are available for long-term Australian residents, citizens, permanent and temporary residents, according to the Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne. Australian residents who enter Japan for a short-term stay do not require a visa and are permitted to stay up to 90 days with a valid Australian passport on the condition that they are not working.
No fee is required for Australians applying for a visa, but applicants should have a valid passport and be eligible for re-entry to their country of origin.
