The following documents are required for a Belgium Schengen visa application:
- Visa Application Form: Completed and signed
- Passport: Valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the Schengen area, with two blank pages
- Two Passport-sized photos: Recent and taken within the last 6 months
- Proof of Means of Financial Support: Bank statements, payslips, or other documents that show you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay in the Schengen area
- Travel Itinerary: A detailed itinerary of your trip to the Schengen area
- Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservations, rental agreements, or other documents that show you have a place to stay in the Schengen area
- Travel Insurance: A copy of travel insurance policy that covers medical expenses and emergency repatriation
- Visa Fee: The visa fee is €80 for adults, and €40 for children between 6-12 years old
Step 2: Book an appointment
Once you have gathered all of the required documents, you can book an appointment at the Belgian embassy or consulate in your home country.
Step 3: Attend your visa interview
On the day of your visa interview, bring all of the original documents that you submitted with your application. The visa officer will ask you questions about your trip to the Schengen area, your financial situation, and your plans for the future.
Step 4: Wait for a decision
The visa officer will make a decision on your visa application within 15 calendar days. If your application is approved, you will be issued a Schengen visa sticker that will be placed in your passport.
Step 5: Travel to the Schengen area
Once you have received your Schengen visa, you can travel to any of the 26 countries in the Schengen area. Schengen visas are valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
